History on a Shirt

Curtiss-Wright P-40 Warhawk

Regular price $15.00

This print is adapted from artwork for a t-shirt designed for the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in upstate New York. The design was inspired by a WWII pilot training manual. Out of nowhere, a P-40 Warhawk with its red shark's mouth suddenly appears in front of the viewer against an olive background. Behind the aircraft, a stripe of brick red identifies it as simply "P-40" and holds the logo illustrating the Curtiss aircraft company's association with the Wright engine.

See our blog post imagining flight in a P-40 simulator for more on the characteristics of the P-40 and what a good pilot could do with it.
